If you don't care about efficiency, then the 389 is pretty much a flawless truck in ATS and is one of of those trucks that's perfect for every job.The Mercedes MP4 offers the versatility you are looking for your job! There is definitely something for everyone thanks to numerous configuration options and the ability to mount the swap body.

I just installed a roof wing on my 389 flat top and I'm gonna see if that will improve effciency on my next long-haul trip. Some may not care too much about fuel effciency in ATS but I like playing ATS realistcally and irl more fuel effciency = more profit so it's good to maxmize fuel efficieny. With the mid-roof sleeper you can add a deflector or a wing to deflect the airflow over the trailer, but a deflector isn't available for the low-roof/flat top, however you can get a wing for it if you use the 389 extra parts pack on steam workshop. If your driving a flat top or a mid-roof sleeper truck like the 389, the cab doesn't completely cover the front face of any boxed trailer (dry van/reefer) and that creates a TON of drag. I average 4.6-4.8mpg on long trips and I haul various goods but I use a Utlity 3000R Reefer trailer. The major drawback for the 389 is fuel efficieny with the flat long hood it has. Also, since it's has a small width compared to other larger trucks, it doens't take up as much road when driving. I'm not dissing the W900, it's a good truck but it requires an experienced driver and is quite a handful to drive. The 389 also has great visiblity, and it's fairly easy to back up especially since all exhaust stocks available for it don't block your rear view like the W900 (with exhaust sheilds).

It's perfect if you want a classic but want an easier driving truck and don't want to drive the behemoth W900. It's relativly small profile -height and width wise- isn't big and intimidating to drive like the default W900 and it's not long like the W900 either. Great, all-around truck that's good for any job.

My favorite truck so far has been the default Pete 389 a flat top with a 450hp ISX15 and an Eaton-Fuller 13 speed sequential under the hood as well as 6x4 chassis.
